  1. You’re spot on, dirk,

This is a social phenomenon. As long as the majority of society has unhappy or dull marriages, women will keep talking down or at least finding something bad about their husbands and boyfriends because otherwise they get branded as weirdos by their freinds.

    1. I blame television for so much of the cultural mores that make women feel like it’s acceptable to talk crap about their husbands to others. There’s so much of that negative programming out there that it makes people feel like it’s the norm. Yuck!

  2. Good article Susan. I think life wears you down. As a husband, it is just easier to go with the flow in a marriage instead of going after what you want and as a result you the wife loses a little respect. Then on the wife’s side, it is almost normal to talk negatively about their husbands. In fact, if a wife were to talk about how great her marriage and how much she loves her husband it would be unusual. The result is a marriage that works but is not great. Almost all marriages that stay together are like this. I think your right about Polarity. The husband has to man up. Start going after what he wants, instead of just “going with the flow”. I know this would help give him a little more respect in his wife’s eyes. I do enjoy the information on your website.

  3. Good stuff Susan. In all aspects of life you must keep learning. This helps you do that. When you look around, whether it’s at the mall, a party, anywhere, you see that women are not happy with their husbands. They are satisfied but not happy. You can hear it in their voices and how they talk with their husbands. You can just imagine what is going on in the bedroom. I bet not much. And it is accepted as part of life. It shouldn’t be that way. Life is too short.
